Peter Gabriel – "Flume" (Bon Iver Cover) + "My Body Is A Cage" (Arcade Fire Cover"

Here are two tracks off of Peter Gabriel’s upcoming orchestral indie rock cover album Scratch My Back. It’s hard to judge these fairly, because the originals already won my heart over, but there is no denying that Gabriel’s orchestral interpretations are beautiful. The deep, dark, swelling build up of “My Body Is A Cage” is breathtaking and Gabriel nails the desperation in the melody of “Flume”. The orchestra adds a really dramatic ambiance to these already moving songs. Both of these are must haves. Check it out.

New! Major Lazer ft. Elephant Man – "Halo" (Beyonce Cover)

Diplo, who is currently working on production for MIA’s album, found time for a little fun with Elephant man recreating Beyonce’s hit “Halo”. Major Lazer is Diplo and Switch’s wild collaborative project that has stormed up a strong internet buzz. Beyonce may have a Grammy for this, but Major Lazer has Elephant man. Although the cover doesn’t change the structure of the song too much, you can imagine how different the vibe of the song is.

New! Bobby Ray – *May 25th* (Mixtape)

What’s good ya’ll? Got a little time to post something & get on the internet. Downloaded a sh*tload of music I missed out on (good looking Confusion!). Then got on my twitter just to see if I missed anything…don’t know why I thought I might’ve missed anything there, but wtv. Decided to check out Hamilton’s twitter & found a nice joint called “Fool For Love”.

It’s Bobby Ray’s (B.o.B.) song featuring Charles & it’s off of Bobby Ray’s *May 25th* mixtape, which then reminded me to check for that. And what do ya know!?!? It’s out!! So below is “Fool For Love” along with the download link (via 2dbz) & track listing for the entire *May 25th* mixtape! Enjoy!

New! DJ Khaled ft. Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, Rick Ross & T-Pain – "All I Do Is Win"

Here’s a track from DJ Khaled’s upcoming Victory. With this one he’s really trying out a new sound and pushing the limits. Just kidding. Khaled is clearly just sticking with the formula that works for him. After years of hearing the same thing from him, this is sounding really tired, but it’s guaranteed that this is going to be a hit.

Video! Uncensored – Lil Wayne, Eminem, Drake, Travis Barker Grammy Performance

This will be the last Grammy post, I promise. If you missed any of the performances check them out here. If you were watching on TV, then you must probably noticed how ridiculous the censoring was during the Travis Barker, Lil Wayne, Eminem, and Drake portion. When they anticipated a swear word being used, CBS muted the volume for a good 5 seconds, causing millions of Americans to hit their television to make sure it was working. (Because every American knows that if something is wrong with your television, you hit it).

The censoring really fucked with my ability to enjoy the performance, so here is the uncensored video. It’s especially confusing to see, because you notice that most of the time the guys censor themselves. It really makes you think that whoever was in charge of the censoring was not a fan of hip-hop. Or maybe they are just a huge fan of playing it safe.

Below is a video of Drake talking to Sway and his downsized head wear about the words Eminem gave him before the performance.

(Video) 2010 Grammys Ongoing Post

Lil Wayne, Eminem, Drake, and Travis Barker

Best performance of the night, if you ask me. It’s unfortunate that the CBS people spazzed out with the censoring. I should have an uncensored video up here soon. (Here it is). With Travis Barker on drums, here is Lil Wayne and Eminem doing “Drop the World” into “Forever” with Drake. Kanye was mysteriously missing, then Taylor Swift won Album of the Year and it all made sense. Someone should have stepped up and snatched that from her.

Lady Gaga and Elton John

Here are the Grammy performances. I’ll be updating it constantly so anyone who can’t catch it on TV can watch the performances. Thanks to Yardie for the HQ uploads. Above is the opening performance by Lady Gaga and Elton John. They love eachother.

Here is Beyonce’s performance, which includes an Alanis Morrisette cover. Jay-Z’s reaction at the end of this was great. He seemed so genuinely happy and proud.

Wow. Pink should give up this “music” thing she’s doing and just join the circus. Or become a porn star. I like this.

Green Day

Here is Green Day’s performance with the cast of their upcoming Broadway musical. I guess they really threw in the towel on that whole punk rock thing.

Black Eyed Peas

The Black Eyed Peas’ performance.

Lady Antebellum

Lady Antebellum’s performance. Honestly, I don’t even know who this is, but they are on the Grammys so I’m sure somebody likes them.

Jamie Foxx, T-Pain, and Slash

Here’s Jamie Foxx, T-Pain, and Slash. Yeah, Slash. And lots of autotune. This is probably the most sloppy performance of the night. It looks like they just brought a bunch of people on stage and said “Go nuts”. And then T-Pain said to Slash “And do that one solo from the one song that I like from when you were in that band!” Still, the performance is fitting for the song, and it looks fun.

Zac Brown Band

This band confuses me. Should I play hacky sack and take bong rips or chew tobacco and shoot animals? I’m not sure. But here is the Zac Brown Band’s performance.

Taylor Swift and Stevie Nicks

Stevie Nicks singing backup vocals for Taylor Swift’s song about teen love while a guy with a 2000 Fall Out Boy haircut plays the keyboard. Ugh. I have been trying really hard to be accepting of the mainstream music scene so people stop calling me a “music snob”, but this is bullshit.

Michael Jackson Tribute

Here is the Michael Jackson tribute, featuring a bunch of people you’ll recognize. This performance included some 3-D effects. Nobody told me, so I didn’t have my 3-D glasses. I scrambled to throw in an extra pair of contacts, put my glasses on, and watch through a magnifying glass. Not sure if I saw the performance as intended, but it was nuts. Will.I.Am also didn’t know about the 3-D effects. He wore the blue and red glasses as a fashion statement, and was visibly disappointed when half the audience jacked his style.

Jay-Z, Rihanna, and Solange Knowles’ Son Accept Award

This isn’t a performance, but I thought it was a great moment. Jay-Z and Rihanna bring up Solange Knowle’s son to accept the award for best rap collaboration. They offer the kid a chance to say something, and as he’s in front of the mic held up by the armpits courtesy of Rihanna, he respectfully says “No thanks”. Uncle Jay-Z does a classic Hov laugh.

Bon Jovi

Here’s Bon Jovi’s performance, including the fan picked “Livin On A Prayer”. I was really hoping they’d bring out the Jersey Shore cast for some epic fist pumping and beating up the beat, but no such luck.

Mary J. Blige and Andrea Bocelli

This is Mary J Blige and Andrea Bocelli covering Simon and Garfunkle’s “Bridge Over Troubled Water”. They were introduced by Wyclef, and this performance is going to be offered as an MP3 download with proceeds going to the Haiti relief effort.

Here’s Maxwell performing “Pretty Wings”.
