Video! Matt Damon’s iPad

This is some good overdubbing right here. These guys have taken the iPad/iPod Boston joke and incorporated it into this overdubbed video from Good Will Hunting.

Matt Damon’s got an iPad.

Video! Lauryn Hill & Julian Marley – "Turn Your Lights Down Low" (Live)

A video of this performance has been going around on the blogs, but it’s cut off at under two minutes. Here’s the full performance by Lauryn Hill and Bob’s son Julian Marley doing “Lights Down Low” at RaggaMuffin 2010 in Australia. Looks like Julian inherited some of his father’s dance moves.

Miss America 2010

I know this doesn’t belong on a music blog, but I invested two hours of my time watching this fuckery so I feel like I need to use it for something. Above is the 2010 Miss America, the representative from VA.

I don’t know why I watched this. I feel like there’s something naturally shallow about me that enjoys judging a bunch of women based solely on their looks, because admit it, their personalities don’t really shine while they robotically answer questions about global warming, sing opera (I swear there must be 10 women in America who sing opera and they were all contenders), and strut around in bikinis. I was disappointed because early in the battle for the crown I became very strongly attached to Miss Oregon. Check her out below.

Big Sean – "Supa Dupa Lemonade"

I saw some people talking about this in the shoutbox and the high quality version just came out so I decided to throw it up. Big Sean definitely sounds nice over this “Lemonade” beat. He’s got the kind of voice and character that shines, but I have a couple reservations about him.

He says a lot of the same stuff that everyone else says. You know, talking about his “retarded” flow, talking about “brain” simultaneously in terms of education and getting your dick sucked, and doing that thing Drake made popular lately by saying a phrase and then finishing it with a one word punchline. Example: “Swimmin’ in the money, come and find me…Nemo”.

Again, he sounds pretty nice doing it, so I’m not complaining. There are always new trends in music and I don’t think there is anything wrong with incorporating what’s hot right now into your music, but that can’t be your only trick. I like to see at least one thing that makes an artist unique in some way, and I haven’t seen that in Big Sean yet. Not saying it’s not there, but I haven’t seen it yet.

Sidenote: I really liked the chorus in Gucci’s version of this song. If he would’ve left that in there this would have made it to my iTunes.
