Ne-Yo – "Take Me Away"

Ne-Yo remakes John Legends track off of *Evolver*. I personally prefer Legends voice but this is definitely still good!

New! Alex Metric – "Head Straight"

Alex Metric is a DJ, Electro/Pop producer & vocalist straight out of the U.K. He recently released an EP titled *Head Straight* (which includes 3 new tracks) that can be purchased HERE for only $9.96.

He decided to make the radio edit of the title track off of the EP available for all to enjoy for free. And I’m most certainly enjoying it!

June 7th, 2009 – See You Later.

By the time this is posted, it will be tomorrow, so happy June 7th. Today is my birthday. It is also the first day of my summer job… my summer job that will probably allow me very little computer access and leave me way behind on new music. I should be able to get online once a day, but I’m not going to be able to blog like a coked up squirrel anymore (at least for 5 weeks).

So just wanted to do a little “see you later” post, and let you know what’s going on in the weeks to come.

First of all, thank you to everyone who has been coming to P&P. Especially those of you who have made things interesting with your comments, emails, and (at times) cyber assaults. I absolutely love sharing music and talking about music with people who are just as passionate about it as me. I really appreciate all the love, and I hope you guys stick around for a while.

While I’m gone, I’ll be leaving the blog in the hands of 4 people I’ve come to trust. I think together they form a really diverse (and cool as fuck) team that will be able to hold down Pigeons and Planes and cover the full P&P spectrum of music (from mainstream hip hop to indie rock). Some will be be posting more than others, but I hope you come to know each of them a little, because they are all interesting people, and they’ve been doing great things outside P&P for a while. Thank you Ramz, Fisha, Jon Jon, and Roni.

It’s gonna be weird not posting, since music has been a big part of my daily life and I’ve become addicted to getting stuff as fresh as possible and sharing it, but I think taking a break will be a good thing, and I can breathe easy knowing that P&P isn’t going to dry out and shrivel up while I’m gone. Hopefully I’ll be able to get on from time to time and throw up a post, but if not, I’ll see you later. Catch me on Twitter if you want to keep up with me over the summer.

Thanks again everyone.

Peace.

Fuze the MC – D.O.A. (Death Of Autotune) Remix

You knew it was coming. Fuze started working on this immediately when he heard the Jay-Z track, and he had the final copy to me last night. I wanted to give “D.O.A.” a minute to sink in before posting remixes, but I think everyone who’s been on the internet in the past 24 hours has heard it by now, so here we go.

Fuze takes an interesting, unexpected take on this. I’m sure he’s gonna ruffle some feathers on this one, since most people have already bought a ticket to ride Jay’s train of thought.

Young Jeezy – Trappin Ain’t Dead

Here is the untagged version of Jeezy’s “Trappin Ain’t Dead”, the title track off his recent mixtape with DJ Folk. I’m not a big fan of Jeezy, but people seem to like this tape, and this was apparently one of the standout tracks. Here it is dry of any DJ drops.
